The last part of our European vacation was spent in Lake Como - where I conducted an unsuccessful search for George Clooney - and in Milan. Lake Como is absolutely gorgeous so we highly recommend you go there if possible. Varenna is the perfect place to go if you want some assurance that English will be spoken and you’ll be understood. Colico is an option if you prefer to hear Italian when in Italy. And Milan, go there to shop.
